FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 3/7/2017
Abingdon, VA, February 23, 2019 — 2Color Design LLC, a Southwest Virginia freelance graphic design business, was recently recognized for their work with Best of Show, Gold ADDY, and silver ADDY wins at the 2019 American Advertising Federation Southwest Virginia (AAF SWVA) American Advertising Awards (AAA) Gala, “Breakfast at the ADDYs”.
“Live Extra, Be Extra” in the category “Ambient Media: Guerilla Marketing,” a project completed for Blacksburg Transit of Blacksburg, Virginia was recognized with a Gold ADDY and as the Best of Show.
“We wanted to grab attention with ‘over-the-top’ graphics and push our message in a humorous unforgettable way,” said Amber Amburgey, 2Color Design founder. “I continue to be grateful for clients, like Blacksburg Transit, that make award-winning projects possible. We are honored that the project has been recognized for its creativity.”
“As an advertiser, you never want to blend into the background, and with year-round recruitment, this can be especially tough,” explains Ken Tucker, Blacksburg Transit Communications & Customer Support Manager. “Working with Amber on the Live Extra campaign, ensured that our ads were fun and quirky, and stand out from the rest. The results speak for themselves – we continue to hire enough drivers to sustain our workforce at a time when unemployment in our area is at an all-time low.”
Other 2Color Design projects that received honors at the event were “The Game” in the “Film, Video, & Sound” category completed for Starnes, Inc. Heating & Cooling and “crEATe: the art of dining” in the “Logo Design” category were both awarded a Silver ADDY.

About the ADDY Awards:
The American Advertising Awards, formerly the ADDYs, is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting more than over 40,000 entries every year in local AAF Club (Ad Club) competitions. The mission of the American Advertising Awards competition is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising.
Conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the local Ad Club phase is the first of a three-tier, national competition. Concurrently, all across the country, local entrants vie to win ADDY Awards – recognition as the very best in their markets. At the second tier, local ADDY winners compete against winners from other local clubs in one of 15 district competitions. District ADDY winners are then forwarded to the third tier, the national stage of the American Advertising Awards. Entry in your local Ad Club competition is the first step toward winning a national ADDY.
